Nate Diaz supports Jim Miller?s nephew after scoring win at UFC on Fox 3

Posted by on May 17, 2012 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

Nate Diaz scored a big win at UFC on Fox 3, submitting Jim Miller in the second round of the main event. Immediately after the bout, Diaz showed excellent sportsmanship. He pointed to Miller’s shirt and said to the camera, “Buy those shirts! Support the cause!”

Diaz was referring to Miller’s walkout shirt and his nephew. Miller’s infant nephew Danny has polycystic kidney disease, and $10 of every walkout shirt sold will be donated to the Danny Miller Foundation to help him and other children with kidney disease. Several UFC fighters have donated memorabilia to auction off to get Danny closer to a kidney transplant, but the family still needs help.

Diaz knew that, and pushed his opponent’s cause on national, network television. Diaz’s last time on national television involved a post-fight melee that was an embarrassment to MMA. This time, he not only showed off his dominance as a fighter, but also his kindness as a man.

Concerns To Consider In Women’s Sports Medicine

Posted by on May 15, 2012 in Uncategorized | Comments Off

An individual would not require to happen to be throughout courses similar to: myphlebotomytraining in order to be mindful for their own overall health. The need for greater understanding of women’s sports health issues has come about due in part to the increase in participation in various sports and exercise by women. Both genders are susceptible to injury with this type of participation but women especially need to be aware of a few issues we’ll talk a little about here in this article.

For those women who see the good in exercising or playing sports, finding a doctor who specializes in sports medicine is something to consider. Sports medicine specialists aren’t solely for those who sustain an injury as many may think, but also for teaching you how to avoid injuries in many cases. If your knees or back are the areas you are most prone to having problems with, a sports medicine doctor may be able to advise you on treatment and prevention.

This is the type of doctor you’ll want if you ever do have a serious injury because of their ability to suggest the right treatment options for your injury. One thing to consider when choosing a sports medicine physician is whether or not he/she is experienced and respected in his field (a good reputation counts).

Some girls and women develop body image problems that cause them to work out intensely and not eat enough to provide them with the nutrients their bodies need. This can, in extreme cases, lead to eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia, which are conditions leading to an obsession to lose weight by starving themselves. Figure skating and gymnastics are only a few of the sports where being thin is more than encouraged, that these conditions are often discovered. There are some real dangers to being very active when you are too thin just as there are with being too fat. For the most part this is a psychological issue although it does have some pretty sever medical consequences.

One issue many women will have when exercising vigorously is a decrease or loss of menstrual periods during these times. This can happen when your body isn’t getting all of the nutrition it needs and is called amenorrhea. Many women believe this to be normal especially for athletes but it can be associated with a higher rate of injury and lowered bone density. Consult your doctor if this happens to you and begin decreasing the intensity of your training. If you are someone who only goes to the gym a few times a week or jogs a few times a week you probably won’t experience this but it is quite common in those who are extremely active in sports.

The knowledge that’s now available regarding women’s sports medicine can be very helpful when it comes to keeping you safe and healthy as you work out or take part in sports. This article has covered a few important concerns but you may have other issues that are unique to you based on your own individual body type and activities you are involved in. This is the reason that it is important to find the right specialist who is knowledgeable regarding women’s sports medicine.

Determining the Causes of Kidney Stones

Posted by on May 15, 2012 in Uncategorized | Comments Off

First We have to notice that kidney stones aren’t anything like the tonsil stones right here: read more! There isn’t always a simple explanation for why people develop kidney stones, but certain causes can be identified. Sometimes other health problems can lead to kidney stones, while for other people lifestyle factors come into play. It’s always helpful to identify the cause of kidney stones if you can find it, as this can often tell you what you have to do to be free of them. So we’ll now take a look at some of the common reasons people develop kidney stones.

Research suggests that people who live in warm and humid climates are more prone to kidney stones that those who live in cooler regions. Correlation does not necessarily mean causation, and that is something to bear in mind.

The hotter locations may be related to excessive dehydration, and that can help induce the formation of stones. There are lots of other reasons why you need to be hydrated, and so this is one more good reason. Obesity is a risk factor for developing kidney stones as well as having the condition in your family. Oxalates, which are contained in many foods, can contribute to calcium stones, the most common type of kidney stones. Many of the foods that contain these substances, such as various fruits, vegetables and nuts are foods that would otherwise be thought of as good for you. Other places where you find oxalates are chocolate, herring, liver and other organ meats. If you suffer from kidney stones you may have to stay away from these foods, at least temporarily. Oxalates are a factor that seems to contribute to kidney stones in at least some people, so it may be worth trying a diet that eliminates these substances to see what the results are. It’s not hard to find out which foods have oxalates,, so if you want to avoid them you should look for a list, either online or in a book.

Stress has been identified as a factor in almost every type of physical illness, and this includes kidney stones. While stress may not by itself cause you to develop kidney stones, it can be one factor that contributes to it. When you reduce stress, your immune system functions more effectively, which makes it easier to maintain or improve your health. It can be hard to let go of stress when you’re suffering from a painful problem like kidney stones, but remember that it’s an important factor if you want to flush them out of your system quickly. If you can find ways to manage stress, you’ll find that you can more easily cope with health challenges such as kidney stones.

Some types of kidney stone can be understood, but not all cases have a clear reason for happening. You may have root causes from the foods you eat, or even an urinary tract infection could cause it. There are so many connections such as the foods you eat and wise life choices such as regular work outs that will help in many different areas.
