After losing four of five fights into Saturday’s UFC 143 event, Matt Brown was in need of a big performance against Chris Cope, and that’s just what he delivered.
Brown won the first round with his grappling and better striking, and opened up further in the second round. He rocked Cope with an overhand right, then dropped him with a left hook before finishing him off on the ground.
The win was just his second in the last two+ years, but it was an important one to keep his spot on the UFC’s roster. For Cope, he’s now been knocked out in consecutive fights after a decision win in his UFC debut last June.
